For the commemoration of World War II's end, entertainment shows will be suspended from airing.

The Chinese government has unveiled the logo for the 70th anniversary of the Allied victory in World War II, also known as the People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in China, which will take place in September this year.

The logo features a large red number "70" with white outlines at the center. It also has five doves flying above it and the Great Wall shaped to resemble a "V" in the background.

The "V" is meant to represent victory and the unity of the Chinese nation, according to the State Council Information Office.

The five pigeons symbolize the remembrance of history and the aspiration for peace, as well as representing people from the five continents united and moving together toward a beautiful future after going through "bloods[sic] and fire."

The doves also represent the Chinese people who are flying to a future of "great rejuvenation" under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the office said.

The logo, however, cannot be used as trademarks or for any commercial purpose. Products that bear the logo are not allowed to be sold in the market, the office said.

The CPC has ramped up preparations for the 70th anniversary of the war in Beijing. Earlier in July, Chinese academics released the official record of lives and property lost during the war to highlight the country's efforts and sacrifices during the conflict.

According to official data, China suffered more than 35 million military and civilian casualties, and an estimated loss of property valued up to $500 billion.
