'Life is Strange'

The "Life is Strange" game developer Dontnod Entertainment began to tell the story of the circumstances related to the disappearance of Rachel Amber and the supernatural elements of the story like the arrival of the tornado that Max has seen in her visions.

However, the story suffers from minor pacing issues, but the seamless merging of the two storylines in just one episode had a number of audiences totally engrossed in the game.  Much like Max and Chloe, gamers were eager to find out how Rachel disappeared. The well-established progression of the story had everyone feeling more than satisfied.

Rachel's story gave Dontnod the opportunity to add to the plot a new dynamic that will add to the gameplay experience. The addition of the investigation being done by Max and how he acquired evidence from different potential witnesses such as David Madsen and Nathan Prescott allows each player to go through all of their evidence and find pieces that are relevant to Rachel's disappearance.

There was a noted improvement in the writer's pacing.  Although "Life is Strange" episode 3 received high praises, it had a few lulls unlike episode 4 that got down the feeling of building the sense of dream from start to finish. The dark tone that is present in all previous episodes can still be seen here and the game almost had the same feel as one of David Fincher's creations, which are known to be dark and artfully gruesome.

The game offers bits of downtime, which gives players the chance to take it all in.  But although it has quieter moments, everything leads to a very shocking season-ender, surely something that gamers who have played episode three will be looking forward to.

The exceptional quality and unique gaming experience that was offered by episode three continues on with "Life is Strange" episode 4.  Many have agreed that it surpassed the episodes that came before it and there were much improvement made.
