Various components supposedly for the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus are surfacing, almost on a daily basis, which suggests that release date of the flagships could happen very soon. The wait could be over in a matter of few months of even weeks but for some it might be a good thing to hold out for the iPhone 7.
Apple fans have seen the purported metal case and glass panel for the upcoming iPhone refresh and the latest to join the avalanche of leaks are mostly the inner parts - the flex cable that connects the camera, power and volume rocker to the logic board, the exterior ring of the camera sensor and the gold-painted Home button. These parts coming into light only hints that mass-scale production of the 2015 iPhones is already underway, MacRumors said in a report.
And the logical assumption would be: launch time is near. But why the news seem to generate little excitement when the prospect of replacing the best-selling iPhone 6 and 6 Plus is closing in? Apple Insider offers an answer - there is little change to expect from the next iPhone.
"Apple is optimizing the internal design of its next iPhone while leaving the outside relatively unchanged," the report added. The tech giant is making adjustments under the hood of the 6S and 6S Plus but the outer build and design will be just the same. This was hinted by the metal case and glass panel that popped out in the past days, somehow proving that like in the previous S-phase the iPhone this year is essentially the duplicate of its immediate predecessor.
So there are no compelling reasons to upgrade not even the suggestions that Force Touch screen sensor will be on board to give fresh layer of touchscreen functions to the next-generation iPhone.
Apple Insider noted, however, that rumors are saying that both the iPhones 6S and 6S Plus will sport a better camera - a 12MP rear shooter with all the shooting killer featured packed with the system - and possibly a huge RAM bump, from 1GB last year to 2GB.
And the next iPhone casing is said to be more robust than ever thanks to the rumored use of 7000 Series aluminum that should prevent the Bendgate of last year to ever happen again. As a bonus, one variant would be painted rose gold in order to attract new buyers.
But as Apple Insider admits, the only sure thing about the next iPhone is that it will bring the combo of iOS 9 and A9 processing chip and all the rest are classified as speculations.
If indeed that majority of the dreamed iPhone upgrades will not happen this year then the iPhone 7 release date in next 2016 should not disappoint. As always the case, when coming off from the S series, like the iPhone 5 (preceded by the 4S) and 6 (the 5S came before it), Apple unloads the big ones and that is more likely to come true with the iPhone next year.
