Veteran actor and director Woody Allen recently gave a sneak peek inside his much-publicized marital life by saying that despite the age gap of 35 years, his marriage to his adopted step-daughter Soon-Yi Previn has worked out well. The four times Academy award winner was speaking during an interview when he got candid about his relationship with his wife of 20 years.

"I'm 35 years older, and somehow, through no fault of mine or hers, the dynamic worked," gushed the 79- year-old actor, further adding that he liked her youth and energy and somehow their "age difference didn't seem to matter."

The "Annie Hall" director was speaking with NPR when he made the candid confession. The actor further added that it was just a good luck that Previn came into his life and he strongly believes that it is important for two people to "mesh" with each other to have a good relationship otherwise it will fade out.

Allen claimed that he holds paternal feelings and Previn seemed to respond to the same, though, it seems that the couple has contradictory views on their relationship as Previn had told Time back in 1992 that the thought of seeing Allen as a father or grandfather is a laughable matter for her.

Allen created quite a stir back in 1992 when he was reported to be attracted to the adopted daughter of his lover Mia Farrow. Although Allen and Farrow never married, they were often referred to as a couple. They, however, separated later when it was reported that the latter discovered some nude pics of her daughter in the possession of the veteran actor.

After parting ways with Farrow, Allen carried on his scandalous relationship with Previn and eventually married her in 1997.
