Paris Saint-Germain's Edinson Cavani

Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani said that he is keen on staying with French champions Paris Saint-Germain for the remainder of his career and a transfer is the last thing in his mind as of the moment.

ESPN reported that the Uruguay international claimed that PSG knows his "way of thinking" and that he is happy at how things are going on at Ligue 1.

"Listen, lots of things were said last season, and I think that could have been avoided," said Cavani. "What I can say today is that the club knows very well what my objectives are and what my way of thinking is. That's the most important thing."

The 6-foot striker had been linked to Manchester United transfer rumors especially after Les Rouge-et-Bleu recently acquired Ángel Di María from the English club. It was said that United manager Louis van Gaal was asking a swap for Cavani, but speculations were immediately refuted by both sides.

PSG manager Laurent Blanc was planning a 4-3-3 formation for the Parc des Princes this coming season where Cavani is the center forward while Di María and Zlatan Ibrahimović at the left and right wings up front.

The combination is deemed menacing by analysts and something that Cavani approves of. "The whole world knows Cavani is a great center forward," he said via Goal.

The Salto native was not in the Les Parisiens' lineup when the team captured the 2015 International Champions Cup North America leg title via a 2-0 win against the Red Devils on Wednesday because of an extended vacation following the summer's Copa América.

Uruguay was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the CONMEBOL tourney by eventual champions Chile while Cavani was banned for two international games following a fingering scandal with Gonzalo Jara, as per The Guardian.
