"Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" will carry on the eSports tradition from its previous iterations. This was confirmed by developer Treyarch, announcing that the studio will reveal the eSports tools that will be used for the latest COD title.
Dubbed as the Global eSports Reveal, Treyarch will showcase the eSports tols at gamescom, VG 24/7 reported. This will be done via a livestream on Aug. 5, 10 a.m. PST/1 p.m. EST. 7 p.m. CEST. The competitive angle will also be tested out by pro COD players, all of which can be viewed either through the official "Call of Duty" website or the "Call of Duty" Twitch channel.
Treyarch has also partnered with charity group Omaze in supporting the veterans' fund via the Call of Duty Endowment. With this, comes some potential new features and items that fans can get in donating for the cause.
First off, those who donate for the cause will have the chance to become one of the zombies that will appear in the "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" Shadows of Evil DLC. There are different ways to help out, as Treyarch already laid out different prizes for their respective donations.
Fans can choose to give anywhere between $5 to as much as $50,000. The prizes can be digital Thank You cards from the cause, exclusive items like zombies shirt, "Call of Duty" endowment shirt and jacket and a limited edition Shadows of Evil poster with Treyarch team autographs for donations that range anywhere between $5 to $500.
Top-tiered incentives include a signed Juggernog mini-fridge, a prop from the future live action "Call of Duty" trailer with Mark Lamia's signature or even a walk-on-role in the aforementioned trailer. Alongside the incentives, the donations also have chance tickets, towards the biggest prize, which is to have a zombified version in the DLC. Fans who donate in the higher tiers get bigger chances at the top incentive.
The "Call of Duty" Endowment cause helps war veterans get back on their feet. For every $1,000 raised, one new job is created for a war veteran. COD fans have until the end of August to participate and help out the campaign and cause.
