It has been barely a week since OnePlus gave the first ever VR reveal of its flagship phone, the OnePlus 2. The list of request invites, which are needed to gain access to purchasing the phone, has already become even longer. In a span of less than two days, it broke the 500,000 barrier by getting 750,000 requests for the invite.

Now invite requests for the OnePlus has reached over one million, Phone Arena reported. The invite is the system by which the OnePlus 2 can be purchased. However, there are still some sort of hierarchy in getting assurance in owning the device. The Chinese company prioritizes those who won the contests that the company held. It will also prioritize those who are part of the forums or those who may have received invites straight from OnePlus 2 owners.

This is a pretty fast rise in terms of interest and hype, without even counting the kind of attention that the developer has brought to the phone. OnePlus has dubbed its newest smartphone the 2016 flagship killer.

Compared to the OnePlus device, which sold one million units, it seems that the OnePlus 2, a marked improvement in the original, may even sell more. And this may be due to some new and enhanced features that significantly beef up the specs and tech behind OnePlus 2, Engadget reported.

Some of its revealed features, including the Snapdragon 810 v2.1 processor, the 5.50inch 1080p screen, the 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, fingerprint sensor and the 3300 mAh battery, do put it in a good light among its competitors. But adding its ergonomic design, metallic body and $330 price tag justifies the intense interest of fans in the smartphone.

Aesthetics-wise, OnePlus has also made it even easier to swap back covers for the OnePlus 2. This is convenient not only in taking advantage of the five sleek covers and finishes but also in accessing the dual-SIM underneath.

Recently, the wallpapers that are pre-loaded onto the OnePlus 2 have been released by one of the company's OxygenOS designers. There are a total of 25 wallpapers that can be downloaded for free and can be used in other devices as well. These serve as a teaser for the arrival of the OnePlus 2, set for Aug. 11.
