Shane Mosley

"Sugar' Shane Mosley fought the world's top pound-for-pound fighters (Mayweather and Pacquiao) when he was in the twilight of their career and the two were at their peak. Mayweather took on Mosley in 2010 and Pacquiao in 2011.

Now, both fighters are nearing the end of their careers, too and Mosley wants another crack at them, among others. Boxing Scene caught up with Mosley and had his bold statements.

"My mindset is to beat all the guys that beat me," Mosley said. "Obviously I can't beat Vernon Forrest. God bless the dead. There is Mayweather, there is Pacquiao and there is Winky (Wright) if he wants to come back and fight. There is Saul Alvarez Canelo and Miguel Cotto. They are all out there to fight."

Mosley practically called out the big names from 168 lbs or under. He will face Ricardo Mayorga on August 29 for his return debut. For Mosley to be taken seriously, he has to carve an impressive win. Of course, he predicted a knockout when he talked to ESPN, in the second round, to be exact.

"I could do it in less but I want to give a real show," Mosley said. "All action all the time on this one. I plan to surprise a few people. I'm younger than (50-year-old) Bernard Hopkins and more deadly."

Citing Hopkins as a precedent, he continues to argue how age should not be a factor in a rematch against Pac or Money. "When I was 38, 39 I was considered old but Mayweather is 38 and Pacquiao is 38 or 37 and they aren't considered old?"

There are still no takers for Mosley, and unless he delivers on his claim against Mayorga, no big name would heed his call.
