Premiere League 2015-2016: Leicester City vs Sunderland, Preview, Prediction and Predicted Lineup

| Aug 05, 2015 09:47 AM EDT

Leicester City and Sunderland's match at the King Power Stadium last season ended in a 0-0 draw.

Two of last season's weaker teams, Leicester City FC and Sunderland AFC, will face off on August 8 as part of the six-match opening day festivities of the new Premiere League season. The game will be held at the King Power Stadium in Leicester City.

The Foxes, who finished 14th last season, had a promising offseason with three wins and a draw in their last four matches. Their most recent game was a 5-1 shellacking of cellar-dweller Queens Park Rangers during their final game of the 2014-2015 season, as per BBC Sport.

Blue Army manager Claudio Ranieri hopes to bring the momentum over to the new season as they face Sunderland on Saturday.

The Black Cats finished slightly lower last season at no. 16, tied with Aston Villa. Dick Advocaat's boys cannot seem to find their rhythm the whole of last season and they hope to improve everything this time around.

Their 1-0 friendly win over Bundesliga club Hannover 96 last Saturday is a promise of things to come, via SkySports, although it is not much if you ask Advocaat. With an opening day win over Leicester, the coach would be much happier and optimistic about their chances.

The predicted result is a 2-1 win by the Foxes against the Black Cats. Ranieri's team has the advantage at home, but the result could be altered once they meet again at the Stadium of Light.

Leicester City starting lineup (3-4-1-2 formation): Schmeichel; Wasilewski, Huth, Morgan; Albrighton, Cambiasso, King, Schlupp; Mahrez; Ulloa, Vardy

Sunderland starting lineup (4-2-3-1 formation): Pantilimon; Jones, Coates, Kaboul, van Aanholt; Cattermole, Rodwell; Lens, Larsson, Johnson; Defoe
