Does Pierce Brosnan Feel He Is Still 007?; Luggage Yields 10-Inch Knife

Pierce Brosnan played James Bond in four films.

Playing Agent 007 James Bond on the silver screen and Remington Steele on television must have rubbed off on Irish actor Pierce Brosnan. He was stopped on Sunday by agents of the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) after he was caught with a 10-inch hunting knife in his hand luggage.

The Guardian reported on Wednesday that the issue was resolved and Brosnan was allowed to board his plane at the Burlington International Airport in Vermont, according to Lieutenant Shawn Burke of the local police department.

The knife was confiscated, reports The Independent. Knives and other sharp objects such as box cutters and scissors beyond four inches in length are not allows in hand luggage under TSA rules. These items must be in check-in luggage.

Photos circulated showing the actor of "GoldenEye" and "Die Another Day" removing his belt in the security area and speaking to TSA employees. He was with teenage son Paris during the incident.

Brosnan's trip to his native land in July was without any untoward incident. He even posted on Instagram, "Goodbye, my sweet home of Ireland, that I can call you now after all these years abroad a wandering."

While in Ireland, he filmed a new movie, "I.T." in Dublin. When not on the set, Brosnan and wife Keely relived his childhood. The actor was born in Drogheda, Co. Louth, but considers Navan, Co. Meath, where he lived for 12 years as his hometown. Among the places the couple visited was Athlumney Castle, according to the Irish Examiner.
