‘Spider-Man’ Film Update: Kraven The Hunter To Be The Film Villain?

Kraven the Hunter is seen as one of Spider-Man's villains.

With Jon Watt's "Spider-Man" hitting the big screen in two years, it has been reported that the iconic web-slinger will be facing the villain Kraven the Hunter.

Sources connected to Sony Studios told Heroic Hollywood that Sony Vice President of Creative Affairs Karen Moy recently purchased a copy of "Kraven's Last Hunt" comics on Amazon, which is reported to be a source material for the upcoming "Spider-Man" film. As Spider-Man's ultimate villains, it is assumed that the studio is eyeing on Kraven as the web-slinger's anti-hero in Watt's film.

Kraven would be a perfect fit in Watt's upcoming "Spider-Man" film. According to Cinema Blend, the villain was set to appear in the third period of Marc Webb's "The Amazing Spider-Man." With OsCorp and the mysterious man in coat plotting a crowd of animal-based villains, it is assumed that Kraven will be one of the villains in the upcoming "Spider-Man" film.

It was previously reported that "Titanic" actor Billy Zane and "American Pie" actor Jason Biggs are going to play Vulture and Scorpion, respectively. At this point, it is a possibility that Kraven may work with the in the upcoming film.

Tom Holland is playing the role of the web-slinger. Watts is set to helm the film while John Francis Dailey and Jonathan M. Goldstein are on board to write the screenplay. Despite of being a bore and a loner, Watts' version of Spider-Man will be amusing and crafty, as previously revealed by the writers.

Watts' "Spider-Man" film is set to premiere in theaters on July 28, 2017.
