Leaked Microsoft Lumia 950 Images Suggest Smartphone Will Run In Windows 10 Mobile

Microsoft is expected to unveil the Lumia 950 XL on Oct. 6.

A new set of leaked images of the alleged Microsoft Lumia 950 XL smartphone ahead its purported release in September shows that the device is running on Windows 10 Mobile platform.

The Chinese website WPXAP.com posted the leaked images of the Lumia 950XL. At the bottom part of the phone's front panel shows a line that reads proto.microsoft.com. These lead many analysts to believe that the leaked image was a prototype and not the official device itself.

The leaked photo also revealed the device's home screen which has the touch to connect icon in order to connect to Microsoft Continuum. According to Computer World, the feature allows user to connect the smartphone to a keyboard and mimic the functions of a desktop computer.

. According to The Verge, the new Lumia 950 XL will have support for Microsoft Surface Pen technology. It also features a newly designed smart cover the shows a circular out which makes it easy for the user to access their notifications.

The new flagship phone from Microsoft is rumored to have a 5.7-inch display, Snapdragon 810 chipset from Qualcomm which has eight-core processor and an Adreno 430 graphics processing unit. It comes in with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage space with support for microSD, microSDHC and microSDXC for storage expansion.

The Lumia 950 XL will be released alongside its smaller counterpart, which has a 5.2-inch screen and will be simply called Microsoft Lumia 950. Both devices will support USB Type-C and will feature a 20-megapixel PureView main camera.
