Jackie Chan has expressed interest to work with Hong Kong director Dante Lam after watching the premiere of Lam's latest release, "To the Fore."

The action star was a surprise guest at the premiere in Beijing. Chan disclosed that Lam had shown him a copy of the film's script prior to making it.

"At the time, I thought, how can cycling be made into a movie?" Chan said. "If you compare it to an action movie, an action movie is not that difficult to make. You just have to stand there and fight. But his movie is very hard to shoot and absolutely something new for a Chinese film."

Chan confessed that watching "To the Fore" made him want to work with Lam. He said that he hopes the director will offer to put him in his next sports film.

When asked about Chan's interest to work with him, Lam was enthusiastic. He said: "I have always wanted to work with him. When we talked about it earlier, we planned to make a drama film. But now that he said that, it gives me more pressure to do better!"

"To the Fore," starring Eddie Peng, Choi Siwon, Shawn Duo and Wang Luo Dan, is a youth-oriented drama that tells the story of four friends who dream of gaining victory in a cycling competition. Along the way, they encounter conflicts that challenge their friendship and personal beliefs, as well as introduce the possibility of romance.

According to Lam, "To the Fore" is different from his previous releases because it is targeted at a more youthful audience, making it lighter. He said that he hopes a youthful audience will enjoy his film about young people chasing their dreams.

Lam is a well-respected film director, known for making action movies, who has more than 20 films under his belt.
