Although it should be the best day of their lives, Rick (Jacob Young) and Maya (Karla Mosley) could find their wedding day heartbreaking.
According to Entertainment Weekly, from Aug. 10, "The Bold and The Beautiful" that comes on CBC during the day will start airing the wedding of Rick and Maya (the TV's first transgender character to get married).
After going through much criticism together because of Maya being a Transgender, the two characters eventually reconciled, engaged, and are now ready to get married. However, just because most of their loved ones support their relationship does not imply everyone around them is in support.
The most outspoken opponents have been Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) and Maya's father, Julius (Obba Babatunde), Enstarts reported. These two opponents will be present at the couple's wedding.
Unexpectedly, Bill may surprise the couple with what he has in store for them when he arrives with Rick's Aunt Katie (Heather Tom). He will unusually offer his congratulations and appear to focus on establishing a good rapport with the couple.
"I am not here to destroy Maya's wedding day, but I am here to make amends," Bill says to Rick in a preview video for Aug. 7 episode.
However, Bill's acceptance of this wedding does not imply Julius will, and Nicole (Reign Edwards) warns Julius beforehand that in case he is not ready to behave himself and support his transgender daughter, then he should leave.
Nicole says, "Just be happy for her, it is as simple as that or leave."
"The Bold and The Beautiful" airs on CBC from Monday to Friday at 1.30 p.m.
