Boruto: Naruto the Movie

Boruto: Naruto the Movie introduced to Naruto fans the new generation of ninjas in Masashi Kishimoto-created Shinobi world. Set years after the main storyline of the manga series, the latest Naruto movie feature new characters (Boruto, Sarada & Mitsuki) and fresh designs to Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura.

The artwork for the major characters have already been made available weeks before the premier of the movie. However, there were still characters whose designs were yet to be released or posted online until now.

Kidchuck finally ended all the waiting by posting on Tumblr the concept artworks for the remaining characters in the film, including Shikamaru, Shikadai, Gaara the Kazekage, Konohamaru and the father-and-son combo of Rock Lee and Metal Lee.

Design for Rock Lee, Metal Lee, Gaara & Shikadai:

There isn’t much difference between Rock Lee and Metal Lee. In fact, the new generation ninja is a spitting image of his father with same set of uniforms, bushy eyebrows and hot-blooded attitude. The only distinct feature Metal Lee has is the way his eyes were drawn, which quite resembles that of another student of Might Guy. Connection? Perhaps, Metal Lee’s mother is no other than Rock Lee’s teammate - Tenten.

Gaara continues to wear Crimson red clothes and he still likes to carry that Sand Gourd. The only new in the Kazekage’s persona is his new haircut, that’s it. Meanwhile, his nephew Shikadai looks, walks and thinks like his father Shikamaru, except that he inherited his almond eyes from his mother Temari.

Boruto Designs:

For Boruto's designs, Kishimoto somehow intended to make the young Uzumaki look cooler and cuter than his dad. No offense to hardcore Naruto fans, but there's anything much to like Naruto's style when he was at the same age as his son. It's probably the reason why Sakura dig Sasuke more over him.
