The hot exchange between unbeaten American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. and UFC Women's Welterweight champion Ronda Rousey continues.
In response to Mayweather's statement that Rousey should only dare him to fight is she makes $300 million for 36 minutes of ring work, the mixed martial arts fighter said she fights for a living. Replying to a Reddit Ask Me Anything question, Rousey says, "In a no-rules fight, I believe I can beat anyone on this planet," quotes Fox News.
However, the curvaceous but muscular athlete admits she would lose to Mayweather in a boxing match. Rousey concedes that Mayweather is one of the best boxers of all time. She adds that boxing "is a sweet science with strict rules that I respect very much."
Rousey shares her thoughts about boxing, particularly about Mayweather's last foe, Manny Pacquiao, in the ESPN video below.
At the recent ESPY awards when she was named Female Athlete of the Year, Rousey was quoted as saying, "I wonder how Floyd feels being beaten by a woman for once."
Mayweather, though has a record of beating women such as his former partners which led to his spending time in jail and still facing court cases.
Other UFC fighters agree with Rousey's assessment of chances of winning in a no rules match. Conor McGregor says, "In a real fight I would dismantle [Mayweather] in seconds. Ronda would dismantle him in seconds - 100%."
McGregor explains that athletes who do not know how to grapple do not stand a chance. "People who don't understand the sport cannot understand how vulnerable they are," the UFC fighter adds.
In the Reddit forum, Rousey clarifies that the reason behind the delay in negotiations for a bout against Cristiane "Cyborg" Justino is not over weight issues but money. She claims Justino's shows lose thousands of dollars and most of the tickets are given away for alleged lack of buyers.
