The 2015 Major League Soccer regular season game lineup for August 15 features a second Western Conference big-time matchup, which is a battle between Sporting Kansas City (10-4-7, 37 points) and the Vancouver Whitecaps (13-8-3, 42 points). The Wizards will host the Caps at the Sporting Park on the same night that the LA Galaxy visits FC Dallas at the Toyota Stadium.
The results of the two matches will greatly affect the overall standings in the West as they are the top four teams of the conference.
In their last game, Sporting KC, who are currently at the fourth spot in the West, snapped the four-game home unbeaten run of Toronto FC via a 3-1 shellacking at the BMO Field last Saturday, as per CBC Sports.
Meanwhile, the West-leading Whitecaps destroyed Real Salt Lake, 4-0, on their home field of BC Place to continue to solidify their dominance in the Western Conference, via the MLS official website.
Despite both teams coming off high-scoring wins, expect their second meeting of the season to be as action-packed and defensive-minded as the first one, which the Wizards won on the road, 1-0, last July 12.
The predicted result is a 1-0 win by Vancouver over Kansas City. The Caps are out to avenge their home loss the last time these two teams met with a road win of their own.
