Nintendo, Japanese multinational consumer electronics company, is preparing a collection of new games for Wii U as part of its upcoming 30th anniversary of the "Super Mario Bros." game series. To commemorate the first launch of "Super Mario," an anniversary website was officially launched by Nintendo.
Nintendo joined the recent Gamescom 2015 event in Cologne, Germany, where the electronics company presented its collection of upcoming new games available to Wii U and 3DS family systems. While there, they also reflected back to the past and showcased the company's rich history.
The first "Super Mario" was launched back in Sept. 13, 1985. The commemorative "Super Mario" Nintendo website displays the effervescent history of the "Super Mario" series.
In line with the celebration of its 30th anniversary, Nintendo is launching Mario-themed games in the coming months. The new games include "Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash," "Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam," and "Super Mario Maker."
"Super Mario" Maker for the Wii U will also be coming out this Sept. 11 as per the announcement made by Nintendo during the E3 2015 event. With this new tool, players can now craft their very own game levels on Wii U, which they can also choose to share online for other "Super Mario" players to try out, GameSpot explained.
"Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash" for Wii U is said to be released sometime in December. This game is said to feature the classic sport's gameplay, but will come with a twist of advanced power-ups and improved graphics. It can be played by up to four players and is designed for a competitive and stimulating gameplay.
The release for "Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam" for the Nintendo 3DS will not happen until Spring of 2016. It will feature a mixture of gameplays from both Nintendo games "Paper Jam" and "Mario & Luigi". It is also said to feature a mix of 2D and 3D graphics with a storyline that will bring a fresh and unique element to the game.
