The annual charitable automotive show Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance has finally came to a close and the event has already declared the winner. For the 2015 edition of the exclusive vintage car exhibition, the organizers picked the 1924 Isotta Fraschini Tipo 8A as the Best of Show winner.
The car belongs to Jim Patterson Collection based in Louisville, Kentucky. The car one of the most well-beloved classic car. It was first purchased in 1931 and was used as basis for the Sport Cabriolet. The car also won the 1933 Grand-Prix d'Honneur in Cannes, according to Forbes.
Some of the top cars featured for the 2015 edition of Concours d'Elegance include the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider, Audi R8, Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6, Rolls-Royce Wraith and the BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage R. Electric car company Tesla also has a display tent during the event.
Even South Korea-based motor company Hyundai participated. As part of its effort to enter the luxury car market the company offered test drives for its K900 sedan, a car priced at least $54,000.
Worth noting on the event is Lamborghini's newest 700-horsepower Aventador which when released will fetch a price tag of around $400,000.
The event managed to draw at least 25,000 people in attendance. Attendees are treated to some of the rarest classic cars in the world coming from some of the best luxury car manufacturers including Bugatti, Ferrari and Hispano-Suiza.
Mecum Auctions CEO Dave Magers told Reuters, "It's the Super Bowl of car shows." Collectors are expected to spend at least $400 million during the event in hopes of getting their hands on rare classic cars.
