De’Aaron Fox Split On Kentucky Or Arizona? Final Seven Schools Listed- Kansas, UNC Also In

De'Aaron Fox is the third best point guard in the class of 2016 and he has trimmed down his college choices to seven schools.

Fox is behind Dennis Smith, Jr, ranked 4th and Kobi Simmons, ranked 6th in the race for top playmaker. Curiously, all three point guards are heavily recruited by Kentucky and have listed the Wildcats as one of their finalists.

The other schools in Fox's top seven are Arizona, Kansas, Louisville, LSU, NC State and UNC. NBC Sports noted that Fox "is a major impact recruit who could play a little bit of both guard spots at the next level.

While Fox has shown a comfort level off the ball as a scorer in the past, he showcased an ability to play point guard this spring by leading the EYBL in assists."

There is a possibility that Fox may still choose Kentucky even if one of the other point guards are already recruited. In 2009, the Wildcats paraded John Wall and Eric Bledsoe. Observers thought Bledsoe would back out since he'd be overshadowed by Wall, but everything turned out well. Both Wall and Bledsoe were drafted the same class and are now successful pros.

According to 24/7 Sports, Kentucky is the favorite to land Fox as former rival and hometown choice Texas was not in the final seven. However, both Arizona and Kansas have solid chances. After the final cut, the "Crystal Ball" ratings for Kentucky rose to 75 percent.

The Texas native may even go East with UNC and NC State. The race is still wide open for Fox as he may be waiting on the decision of other point guards.
