‘Mortal Kombat X’ DLC Pack 2 Update News, Possible Release Date: Marvel Character Plus Other Expected Features For Next Upgrade

The second DLC for "Mortal Kombat X" is expected to be released soon and is dubbed as "Kombat Pack 2".

The co-creator of the game, Ed Boon, tweeted about the upcoming DLC to be released to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. However, he did not reveal other details about the game, including the exact release date of the same. He only said that the game upgrade is "coming soon" to the market.

This is not the first time that Boon dropped hints on the upcoming DLC. He once posted an image about an upcoming DLC on his official Twitter account. Within minutes these posts began getting hundreds of re- tweets and comments. The posts included a black and white picture of four "Mortal Kombat X" characters, namely Predator, Tanya, Jason Voorhees and Tremor.

This picture came along with a caption of a winking emoticon, which sparked off the rumor that the DLC is arriving really soon. It is further rumored that this DLC will include a few new characters as well. One of these rumored characters might be the Image Comic's anti-hero, Spawn.

The finger is being pointed towards this character because apparently Nether Realm Studios recently acquired permission to include Spawn in "Mortal Kombat X" from Tom McFarlane, who heads the Image Comics. If this rumor is true, it will be the first time that Spawn will be seen in another game series. Other new characters may include Rain and Smoke.

According to IGN, "Mortal Kombat X" was light on the characterization aspect and hence the inclusion of new characters in the DLC may improve the game a bit.

It is also rumored that this highly anticipated DLC might be named as "Kombat Pack 2", as the previous one was named as "Kombat Pack 1." Nether Realm Studios is yet to confirm on the final name of the DLC.
