"How to Get Away with Murder" Season 2 will add new storylines to the ones told in the pilot season such as the murders of Lila Stangard (Megan West), Annalise Keating's husband Sam (Tom Verica) and Rebecca Sutter (Katie Findlay). Series creator Peter Nowalk teased in an interview about the storylines of new and old HTGAWM characters in the upcoming new season.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter (THR), series creator Peter Nowalk teased that the consequences of the murders that happened in the previous season will keep on resounding in the upcoming new season. The latest mystery will revolve on who killed Rebecca Sutter in Annalise Keating's basement.
The other storylines that are expected to unfold in HTGAWM Season 2 involve Rebecca's text message and the identity of the person who received the text message as well as the surprising connection between Annalise's husband Sam and staff Frank Delfino (Charlie Weber). The pilot season's finale episode revealed that Sam ordered Frank to kill his pregnant mistress, Lila.
Nowalk revealed that there will be different storylines because of the introduction of new characters in the premiere episode of "How to Get Away with Murder" Season 2. Nowalk shared that some of the new characters will come from the backstories of the HTGAWM characters like Annalise Keating (Viola Davis), the "Keating Five," Annalise's associate Bonnie (Liza Weil) and Frank.
According to Deadline, "Supernatural" actor Matt Cohen and "The Vampire Diaries" actor Kendrick Sampson are the new faces added as recurring characters of "How to Get Away with Murder" Season 2. Cohen will portray the new character named Levi while the details on Sampson's recurring role in the new season are being kept under wraps.
Nowalk also admitted he is excited for the new season of ABC's legal drama series because it will also touch on the Connor-Oliver relationship. In the pilot season, Oliver Hampton's test results confirmed that he is HIV-positive.
Nowalk shared that the show is working with Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) on the romantic storyline between HTGAWM characters Oliver Hampton (Conrad Ricamora) and his boyfriend Connor Walsh (Jack Falahee) in "How to Get Away with Murder" Season 2. Nowalk further added in the THR interview that the HTGAWM team wants to tell an honest and genuine Connor-Oliver story.
"How to Get Away with Murder" Season 2 is scheduled to return with the premiere episode titled "It's Time to Move On" on Thursday night, Sept. 24, at 10/9c on ABC.
