"The Amazing Spider-Man" star Andrew Garfield is not bitter over Tom Holland playing the role of Peter Parker.

According to multiple sources, Garfield was in the running to star in the reboot, but he allegedly had a misunderstanding with one executive from Sony.

A few months after it was confirmed that he will no longer play the role of Spider-Man, Sony and Marvel announced that Tom Holland has been cast for the part.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Garfield opened up about Holland's casting and said that he is happy that he was the one who got the part.

"It feels lovely, especially because Tom Holland is a really, really great actor. He was in this movie 'The Impossible' and he was just this incredibly powerful, sensitive, just wonderful young actor. And he is a dancer, so his body is the right form," he said.

Meanwhile, the actor also expressed his excitement over "Spider-Man" reboot and hinted that he will watch it once it is released in theaters. The actor added that he is looking forward to being a fan once again and not an actor starring in the film.

In other news, it has already been confirmed that Holland will first make a cameo in multiple films under Marvel, before starring in his own standalone film as Peter. Holland will appear in "Captain America Civil War" first and he could also appear in "Doctor Strange," according to Screen Rant.

"Spider-Man" reboot is slated to hit theaters in the United States sometime in 2017.
