Microsof Lumia 950, 950 XL Gets Release Date In October To Divert iPhone 7 Fans Attention?

| Aug 27, 2015 01:00 AM EDT

Microsoft Lumia (previously the Nokia Lumia Series) is a range of mobile devices designed and marketed by Microsoft Mobile and previously by Nokia.

Microsoft Lumia 950 and Microsoft Lumia 950 XL phones' release dates will be revealed at an upcoming press conference in October, though the specific date of the event has not been announced yet.

Microsoft Lumia mobile devices are also said to be released together before the 2015's holiday season. The tech giant Redmond has not yet released a device considered as a flagship phone for the year and this upcoming clever tactic is to sidetrack fans away from Apple's iPhone 7 and from all other devices that were recently released in the market. The Microsoft press conference does not have a specific date yet.

Lumia 950 XL will be Microsoft's first phone that is said to support its recently released OS, Windows 10 in a mobile platform. Although Microsoft is keeping its mouth zipped with these theories, most analysts believe it will be included.

Microsoft Lumia 950 XL dubbed as Cityman may include a polycarbonate body, in matte white or black, will be sporting a 5.7 inch, 1440 x 2560 WQHD display, and an infrared iris scanner compatible with Windows Hello. Buttons on the side is aluminum and will carry a 3300 mAh removable battery, Windows Central reported.

Lumia 950 XL will also have Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and Qi wireless charging.

Microsoft Lumia 950 and the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL should have been called the Microsoft 940 and Microsoft 940 XL based on the model sequence being used by Microsoft. Their developers must have despised the number four and decided to skip the number. Their last model was 930, IBT reported.
