Swedish Teen Model Rips Fashion Industry For Labeling Her 'Too Big'

To raise her voice against the fashion industry's ridiculous standards Swedish model Agnes Hedengard has posted a video on YouTube and Facebook on Aug. 26.

In the video Hedengard talks about her body that is classed as too big for the runway and body ideal in the fashion industry.  Hedengård was a runner up of "Sweden's Next Top Model," Cycle 7. Hedengård has been working as a model in Sweden for the past five years. But recently, she has not been getting any work because she is considered too big.

The 19-year-old model has a BMI of just 17.5 - which places her in the "underweight" category. Anything under 18.5 is considered "underweight" by the National Institutes of Health.

The video has already been viewed more than 2 million times.  Hedengård thanked all the people on her Facebook page for supporting her.

The video shows Hedengard clad in a two-piece bikini, standing before a mirror and explaining why she is being disqualified from modeling career despite of her statuesque figure and good looks.

The model told The Independent that, "They are like 'no, she's too big, she needs to get into better shape, and we won't work with her'. My purpose of this video is to show everyone that a big part of the modeling industry thinks this is too big. It's absurd and I hate it, and I just want other people to see this."

Aside from the clip, she also posted a picture on her Instagram account with words "Dear casting director fuck your opinion on my looks."

Hedengård thanked Zooey Deschanel for posting her story and commending her. Hedengård's voice has resonated with millions of Internet viewers and has influenced the people across the world. Many people commended her guts for speaking out against the industry's detrimental fixation with size zero and responded with positive comments.
