'Superman #43' Reveals Why Losis Lane Leaked Superman's Identity

After Divergence Free Comic Day issue, the fans have witnessed a big change in Superman's status quo.  A repercussion of secrets have occurred, the Secret about Superman's double life as Clark Kent is out. Intrepid reporter and a very good friend of Superman, Losis Lane had leaked to the world the secret identity of Superman.

She had found out Superman's secret when he was beaten up after his power levels were decreased and he was caught on a film. We all have seen her as a skilled and cunning investigative reporter, but would she betray her friend and reveal his secret just to make a headline and succeed in her job? Contrary to the belief of Superman's fan, Losis didn't betray the Man of Steel, but was trying to help him, as reported by IGN.

We know that from past series, Superman has been fighting with a faceless enemy, Hodr Root who runs a hacking collective that steals the personal secrets of people to blackmail them. Hodr Root knew about the Superman's double life as Clark Kent. He was blackmailing Superman to work for him in order to protect the people close to him.

The reason why Losis Lane revealed to the world the secret identity of Superman was not fame, money or journalistic glory, but Hodr root's power over Superman which she wanted to snatch away from him.

According to Comic Vine, although this step of Losis Lane has spoiled her friendship with Clark, they are not on good terms and there is no hope of the rift being healed anytime soon. Afterwards, Losis tracked down Clark and also apologized to him.  She confessed to him that she was worried about him and should have looked for another way. But, Clark is in no mood to forgive Losis and said that she has made her choice.
