Shane Mosley Knocks Out Mayorga; Wants Manny Pacquiao next! Will Pacman Take Him Seriously?

The comeback is done. Shane Mosley has knocked out Ricardo Mayorga in his return bout.

The fight was considered a "tragic comedy" as Mosley finished off the obnoxious Mayorga in the sixth round. Yahoo Sports covered the bizarre but entertaining fight.

"If nothing else, Ricardo Mayorga (31-9-1, 25 Kos) has always been entertaining and he flashed moments of that unpredictability throughout his six-round affair with Mosley," Yahoo observed. "He talked, mugged, postured, danced and made provocative gestures toward his opponent, much to the delight of the crowd. Mayorga even managed to stun Mosley with one of his wide, looping punches."

The atmosphere seemed like a bar room brawl between two 40-somethings. "It wasn't pretty by any means and evident that only one of the fighters in the ring was taking their comeback seriously (the difference in their body types was an early indicator of who that was). But sometimes a bar room brawl is simply more entertaining than a boxing match."

Does Mosley's successful first outing validate him as a legitimate fighter? That remains to be seen, but Mosley still aired the challenge to SI.com:

"This won't be my last fight. I'm gonna go out and fight some more. I want to win the world title. I want to fight Manny Pacquiao or Mayweather. I want to fight these guys again. I know that now I'm a better fighter and I can get to these guys and win."

Will the Pacman consider fighting Mosley? It's unlikely since he will probably be down to three more fights at most. He is already considering opponents like Amir Khan but coach Freddie Roach has his eye on Danny Garcia. It would be more probable for Pacquiao and Mayweather to fight each other again rather than Sugar Shane.
