SummerSlam Rematches
One of the night's recurring theme was SummerSlam rematches, with Rusev versus Dolph Ziggler; Ryback versus Big Show; and Kevin Owens versus Cesaro.
Ziggler picked up the win via disqualification after Rusev's current girlfriend, Summer Rae, interfered.
Ryback retained his WWE Intercontinental Championship by hitting the Shellshock on "The World's Largest Athlete," after a Miz distraction.
As always, a pair of former independent circuit darlings brought the house down, after Kevin Owens won a fantastic back and forth match against Cesaro.
Beat the Clock Challenge for the WWE Divas Championship
Becky Lynch locked the Disarmer on Alicia Fox, picking up a victory at the 3:21 mark.
The Lasskicker's time would pale in comparison to her Team PCB mate, after Charlotte went for the Natural Selection on Brie Bella, ending the match at 1:40.
The final Beat the Clock match was good while it lasted, as Paige and Sasha Banks went all out to secure a shot for the Divas title. Eventually, time would be their biggest nemesis as the alarm sounded while Paige was trying to finish Banks with the scorpion crosslock.
The Wyatt Family's Feud with Ambrose and Reigns Intensifies
Last week, the WWE Universe felt the hulking, sadistic presence of new Wyatt Family member, Braun Strowman. This week, they got a glimpse of what the six-foot-eight; four-hundred-pound behemoth can do inside the ring, as Strowman went up against Dean Ambrose.
After a brief promo from Bray Wyatt, the Black Sheep mask-wearing Strowman went on to rag doll Ambrose throughout the match.
Not even assistance from his Shield brother, Roman Reigns, can alleviate Ambrose's suffering from the hands of Strowman.
Ultimately, Braun Strowman won the match by disqualification; leaving a trail of former Shield members lying on the canvass.
The Tag Team Division is Definitely Back
Before the start of one of the night's most anticipated match, The New Day, talked about how The Dudley Boyz should stop being dangers to various tables around the universe.
Then, the newly minted WWE Tag Team champions showed a special bubble-wrapped table and began a "save the tables" chant to solidify their stance on protecting this well-loved wrestling furniture.
As expected, the match quickly developed into an entertaining affair, with The Dudleys up to their usual shenanigans.
Bubba Ray and D-Von then hit the 3D on Big E, and secured a victory over the tag team champions.
