Kate Middleton will attend Queen Elizabeth's landmark event in Balmoral, Scotland on Sept. 9 that will put an end to the long absence of the Duchess of Cambridge from the social events of the royal family.

A source told Daily Mail, "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be with the Queen at Balmoral on September 9. They will attend a family dinner that Her Majesty will give that evening." The Duchess of Cambridge who has been busy raising her daughter will attend the formal event with her husband Prince William.

The landmark event is a celebration for Queen's longest reign as a British monarch and Middleton and Prince William received a formal invite to attend the occasion, according to Irish Independent. Meanwhile, Prince Charles will not attend the event. The reason is not known.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed their daughter Princess Charlotte of Cambridge on May 2. The Duchess is reportedly taking care of the two kids at her countryside home Anmer Hall in Norfolk.

Daily Beast  reported that Middleton will gradually increase her social engagements. Though there is no official word, Middleton may have more social events to attend in the months of September, October and November.

Middleton attended her first event since giving birth to Princess Charlotte at the 2015 Trooping the Colour parade in June. She also made an appearance with Prince William at the America's Cup World Series, in Portsmouth, England in July. The event focused on yacht sailing. For the event, she wore a blue top and blue jeans. The back of her top read Duchess of Cambridge.
