Roy Jones, Jr.

Roy Jones Jr. is a future of Hall of Fame boxer who just could not quit.

The Boxing Writers Association fighter of the decade from 1990-1999 was considered the best pound for pound boxer in the world as he rampaged through the middleweight to light heavyweight division and even held the heavyweight belt for a time after beating John Ruiz.

He is now on the comeback trail at age 46. While the quality of his opposition remained questionable, he is not settling for small fry. Jones called out Marco Huck, the cruiserweight champion.

However, before a fight between the two was even conceptualized, Huck was knocked out for the first time in his career by relatively unknown Polish fighterKrzysztof Glowacki.

Naturally, Jones shifted his attention to Glowacki, as he told ESPN.

"Glowacki already got the phone call that he got what I want," Jones said. "He already got the call. I made the call immediately that night. You beat [Huck]. I want that. That's mine. You took it from him -- now I got to get it from you."

The eager fighter has scheduled numerous fights, sometimes twice in a month in an effort to gain attention.

"I got another fight against Danny Santiago. He got to get it. Then I'm going to England to Liverpool two weeks after that. [Moran] got to get it," Jones said. "Then I'm looking for whoever else. They got to get it. Somebody got to give me a title shot at 46 years old."

However, boxing blog The Living Daylights issued a word of caution to the who was once the best fighter in the world.

"Krzysztof Glowacki looked tremendous against Marco Huck. It's hard to imagine Roy Jones Jr., at this stage of his career, being able to hang with a powerful southpaw like Glowacki, who also happens to be a ruthless body puncher."

Glowacki recovered from a knockdown in the 6th round, the first in his career and proceeded to demolish the young champion Huck. While he is not known outside his native Poland, his ability may be beyond what Jones can handle at this time.
