A new report surfaced stating that Xiaomi is finally ready to announce the Mi5 with built-in fingerprint scanner.
The leaked online report came from Weibo tipster @KJuma, stating that Mi5 launching date will happen sometime in November. Xiaomi gave codename Libra for Mi5. The built-in fingerprint scanner suggests that the device comes with biometric technology like Apple iPhones and Samsung Galaxy S series, adding that Mi5 is the first handset of Xiaomi to offer the technology.
Previous rumors suggest that Xiaomi Mi5 is considered to be a high-end device. In the leaked poster, it showed a numerical 5 graphically enlarged with a caption, "Are you ready."
Also, the poster hinted a user manual for the Xiaomi Mi5. Past rumors stated that the Chinese electronics company files a patent and details on the fingerprint recognition method via the handset's buttons.
Xiaomi Mi5 features a 5.3-inch Quad HD display with Gorilla Glass 4 shield, with a 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution that can offer pixel density of 554ppi, GSM Arena reported.
Powered by MediaTek ten-core based Helio X20 series SoC (System on Chip), Xiaomi Mi5 runs under Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with MIUI version on top and offers a whopping 4GB of RAM, with two options of 16GB and 64GB internal storage and can be expandable vis microSD card.
In addition, Xiaomi Mi5 has a 16MP OIS rear camera with dual-led flash that can take some good photos right from the get go and the front camera a 13-MP, USB Type-C port, and 3000 mAh battery, according to Ubergizmo.
It is also reported that the Chinese company might also launch dual-edge curved display-based phone dubbed as Mi Edge along with Mi 5 in October.
