that iPad Air 3 release date will happen in October, a month after Apple announced the iPad Pro.

After almost two years of iPad Pro rumors and updates, Apple's huge 12.9-inch tablet will finally be unveiled at the Apple event on Sept. 9 this week.

Recent rumors claimed that the Cupertino manufacturer will not refresh its iPad Air lineup this year, and so speculations rose that the company is working on its overdue and oversized iOS 9-powered slate.

Some of the rumored specs of the iPad Pro include a Force Touch-enabled stylus, a 12.9-inch display that will most likely have better than Retina resolution, and probably a 2GB RAM, paired with an A9 chip. Dubbed as J98/J99 within Apple, the iPad Pro may also boast features that would enable it to be converted into a laptop style device.

Meanwhile, 9to5mac reported that alongside the iPad Pro, the iPad mini 4 may also be introduced during Apple's event at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco.

The Cupertino-based company may be improving a number of specs and features in the iPad mini 4 since the mini 3 only had two improvements, both of which are minor - a gold color option, and a Touch ID fingerprint scanner.

In the report, the 7.9-inch slate is rumored to be thinner than its predecessor, probably following the iPad Air's path in being compact, and it would have better cameras as well.

Aside from announcing the Apple tablets, the company is also set to unveil other devices, including new versions of the world renowned iPhone, a new Apple TV, and a new Apple Watch. As the Independent UK puts, this could be Apple's biggest press event to date, considering the 7,000-seat capacity of the auditorium where it will hold its event.
