While Microsoft-made smartphones continue to be outmatched by their Android and iOS counterparts, the company's high-end tablet has been gaining popularity approaching its impending launch next month.

The Surface Pro 4 is set to be announced on Oct. 4, and along with is the Redmond-based giant's Windows 10 operating system.

However, for people who are torn between the current MacBook 2015, and the upcoming Surface Pro 4, here are a few reasons why the Windows-powered slate is a better choice:

1. More Function Options

The MacBook 2015 is a laptop, and that's it. It does not have a touchscreen that most consumers have already grown accustomed to. On the other hand, the Surface Pro 4, like its predecessors, is a tablet-laptop hybrid, which means it can be 'transformed' into any of those main modes depending on the type of work that needs to be done.

2. Windows 10

Even with the outdated and outmatched Windows 8.1 platform, the Surface Pro 3 was still a monster when it comes to user experience and function. Now that the upcoming Surface Pro 4 will run on the latest and arguably most beautiful Windows version to date, it even makes the tablet a lot better.

3. Thinner and Lighter

While the Surface Pro 4 has not been announced just yet, reports claim that its 12-inch version would be even thinner than its predecessor, and that means thinner than 9.1mm. On the other hand, as the 'thinnest' Apple MacBook to date, the MacBook 2015 is 13.1mm thick

4. The USB Port

One of the main downsides of the former Surface Pro tablet is the single USB port. However, this year's model may come with another one just to compensate. Meanwhile, Apple's 12-inch laptop only has one port, and it is a Type C-USB port.
