Primetime Emmy Awards 2015 Update: 'Empire' Stars Among Presenters

The Television Academy has announced its first lot of presenters for the Primetime Emmy Awards broadcast.

According to the official website of the awards the list includes past and present nominees. "Empire's" Taraji P. Henson, who is nominated this year for lead actress in a drama, is presenting. Terrence Howard also from the Fox smash hit "Empire," will be handing out Emmy awards.

Jimmy Kimmel is also in the list and his "Jimmy Kimmel Live" is nominated in the variety talk series category. Amy Poehler is also presenting and this year marks actress, comedian and producer's sixth consecutive nomination for lead actress in a comedy series for "Parks and Recreation."

Golden Globe winner and past Emmy nominee Maggie Gyllenhaal is also presenting. The artist-actor and "NCIS: Los Angeles" star LL Cool J will also be handing out Emmy statuettes. He was nominated for an Emmy in 2012 in the special class category as an exec producer of that year's Grammy Awards.

The 67th edition of the awards will be Produced by Don Mischer Productions and hosted by Andy Samberg. Emmy winners will be announced on Sept. 20 at 8 p.m. ET in a ceremony airing live on Fox from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

The final season of AMC's hit "Mad Men," Netflix's "House of Cards," and Amazon's new transgender comedy "Transparent" are among this year's competitors and potential winners. 

According to CBS News, this year's Emmys host, "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" star promises for an event full of entertainment. "Buckle your seat belts, Emmy viewers!" he said about the impending program.

The final season of AMC's hit "Mad Men," Netflix's "House of Cards," and Amazon's new transgender comedy "Transparent" are among this year's big contenders. For a complete list of this year's nominees, visit the official website.
