The star of "The Expendables 3" Ronda Rousey takes the female lead role in "Road House" remake.

The 1980s movie hit that starred Patrick Swayze as the leading role has now changed into a female lead with 28-year old Ronda Rousey, mixed martial artist and actress. This gender flip has created an interesting comment on the machismo of the original "Road House" movie.

Rousey has not been shy about her ambitions to enter Hollywood, according to Variety. She still respects the legacy of Swayze and she asks the blessing of his wife and widow, Lisa Niemi, before officially taking the originally famous role. The latter gladly give her the blessing.

Rousey's popularity already skyrocketed in 2014 with her surprisingly 16-second win, a viral feminist speech that Beyonce Knowles quickly adopted, and a no-holds barred approach to the red carpet interviews. Clearly, Hollywood is going to have another Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson on their big hands.

The "Road House" remake is going to be Rousey's fourth big project. It sure will be very interesting when this movie hits the theaters around the world. Then after this film, she will be part of an all-female Delta Force team in "The Athena Project," will also appear together with Mark Wahlberg in "Mile 22," and will star herself in her bestselling autobiography called "My Fight/Your Fight."

The latter movie showed the highs and lows of the mixed martials arts star, her failed relationships, her sexually transmitted disease scare and her hollow sense of happiness after she was medalled at the Olympics in Beijing, China.

The production of the "Road House" reboot will start in 2016, according to Vanity Fair. Thus, the meetings and preparations are still being worked on.
