'The Witcher 3' DLC Update: 'Runewords' Details For 'Hearts Of Stone' Revealed; Game Developer Debunks EA Takeover Rumors!

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is an action-RPG video game developed by CD Projekt RED for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC Platform.

New details for the "Hearts of Stone" expansion for "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" have been revealed regarding the Runewords and rumors of corporate takeover from Electronic Arts.

CD Projekt RED is currently working on two DLC expansions for "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" as the "Hearts of Stone" will the first storyline in the game. The game developer recently launch the first teaser for "Hearts of Stone" for "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" as Geralt will have a new quest regarding the Runewords.

New plot details for the "Hearts of Stone" have been revealed as the Runewords will have a permanent mark on Geralt's life during the DLC storyline as he seeks help from Yennefer, Triss and Ciri regarding his situation, GeekSnack reported.

CD Projekt RED stated that each Runewords will have a different effect on Geralt as players can utilize them in any situation such as combat and puzzle solving. "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz added that the Runewords are made by combining glyphs and unlocking special buffs for Geralt that can increase his resistance to attacks or enhancing his fighting skills with magical effects.

New monsters are also being introduced in the "Hearts of Stone" DLC as well as returning character Shani.

In other news, rumors of Electronic Arts taking over CD Projekt RED have been answered.

Community Manager Marcin Momot tweeted that their is no potential takeover from EA as he discussed the latter with studio co-founder Marcin Iwinski, who at the time had no idea about the rumor.

The rumor first came out from DSOGaming stating that a representative from EA visited CD Projekt RED and wants to buy the studio to the point that they will not be making new games anytime soon, Gamespot reported.

CD Projekt RED is known for independence and has been approached by many companies for its acquisition on a regular basis. The company is still holding on to its freedom and plans on not giving it up anytime soon.

The "Hearts of Stone" DLC will launch on Oct. 13 and it cost around $8.50, while the limited box edition will be at $19.99. The limited box edition will feature a new digital code, two Gwent card decks and its own rule book.

"The Witcher: Wild Hunt" is currently available in stores for the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
