‘Prometheus 2': Michael Fassbender Reprises His Android Character In Ridley Scott's Film

Michael Fassbender will be back in Ridley Scott's "Prometheus 2."

Michael Fassbender will reprise his android role in Ridley Scott's upcoming film "Prometheus 2."

In his interview with Deadline at the Toronto International Film Festival, Scott revealed that Fassbender would be working with him once more in his upcoming sci-fi film. The director also said that he and the "X-Men" actor were friends, as they also collaborated in the crime thriller film "The Counselor." Aside from this revelation, Scott added that production would start in February and the film might be shot in Australia.

Fassbender's inclusion in Scott's "Prometheus" sequel stands as a good news for the fans of the film, as per Cinema Blend. Along with the story conflicts and outstanding script, Fassbender's performance as an android character expanded the boundaries of the film, which was seen as impeccable and mindblowing.

Aside from Scott's "Prometheus 2," Fassbender's schedule will be very hectic. The actor will also play the role of the assassin Callum Lynch in Justin Kurzel's video game-based action adventure film "Assassin's Creed" and Apple CEO Steve Jobs in Danny Boyle's biopic "Steve Jobs."

Fassbender is set to reprise his role as Erik Lenscherr, also known as the metal-controlling mutant Magneto in Bryan Singer's upcoming Marvel Comics film "X-Men: Apocalypse," along with Tomas Alfredson's crime drama "The Snowman," Derek Cianfrance's drama film "The Light Between Oceans," Adam Smith's action crime "Trespass Against Us," and an upcoming Terrence Malick project.

With Scott helming the film, "Green Lantern" writer Michael Green is on board to pen the script of the film. Since Scott's "Prometheus 2" is in its early phase of development, exact details on the plot, additional characters, and cast members are yet to be revealed.

Scott's "Prometheus 2" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on May 30, 2017.
