Many Samsung smartphones are still waiting to get the new Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update. However, many users are already thinking about the Android Marshmallow update. Reports suggest that the electronics manufacturer Samsung will bring the Android Marshmallow update for its Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S5.
According to PC Advisor, the search giant Google will release the final version of Android 6.0 Marshmallow by the September end. The Android M version will be released with Google Nexus 5 (2015); however, it will also be offered as an over-the-air update for other Nexus devices.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow will come with a battery feature known as Doze mode, which will limit a user's applications to sync or use network access. In addition, it will come with a native fingerprint reader support on Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S5.
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow will come with automatic application data backup and restore. This means that users will be able to back up their application settings or game saves straight to Google Drive, according to Droid Life.
Meanwhile, the majority of users of Samsung Galaxy S5 are stuck on the Android 5.0 Lollipop. The mobile carrier T-Mobile has already upgraded its Galaxy S5 to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
Fortunately, Android 5.1.1 updates for the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 are readily available. U.S. Cellular, T-Mobile and Verizon subscribers have got the update over-the-air. At present, users of AT&T and Sprint are still using the Android 5.1 Lollipop.
The mobile carrier Sprint has rolled out Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. The Galaxy Note 5 already comes with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop installed. It means that Galaxy Note 5 users will need to wait for the Android Marshmallow roll out.
