Juventus Rumors Central: Erik Lamela (L) and Paul Pogba.

Defending Serie A champions Juventus got a big boost from their recent 2-1 Champions League victory over Manchester City as they carried it over to Italy via a 2-0 blanking of Genoa led by a rejuvenated Paul Pogba on Sunday.

The team is still low in the league table with only their first win in four games for the season and Massimiliano Allegri is reportedly looking for reinforcements when the transfer window re-opens in January.

Allegri eyes Tottenham's Erik Lamela: First in the 48-year-old coach's sight is young Argentine winger Erik Lamela of the Premier League's Tottenham Hotspur.

However, issues with regards to the 23-year-old's release clause amount are said to be making Juve's officials think twice about acquiring the boy.

Football analysts were wondering if Allegri's interest on Lamela is authentic as the Spurs' signing of the Argentina international is considered by many as a flop move, with the attacking midfielder scoring just two goals in 43 appearances for Tottenham. Verdict: Fiction.

Blues prepare €100 million bid for Paul Pogba in January: Juve accepted Jose Mourinho's offer of €85 million for Pogba during the summer transfer window, but the 22-year-old French midfielder himself decided to remain in Turin for undisclosed reasons.

Some rumors say that he is ultimately waiting for a Barcelona bid to have the opportunity to play behind the front trio of Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Luis Suarez, but those are just speculations.

However, recent reports said that Chelsea is preparing a huge €100-million proposal for the France international when the winter window opens next year, something that Pogba may not be able to refuse this time. Verdict: Fact.
