Blake Shelton was performing at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas on Sept.19, Saturday when he opened up with the audience about the recent past. Before his 25-minute set, "The Voice" coach talked to festival-goers about his ex-wife Miranda Lambert admitting that he had a weird year.
"Clash Of The Choirs" judge revealed that he used to drink when he got anxious amidst rehab rumors that surfaced after his divorce from Lambert.
"The Voice" coach made the comments before he took to the stage at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas on Sept.19, Saturday, according to People.
"It's been a weird year, but at least I got my songs coming out," Shelton said. "They told me I was playing this iHeart music festival and I thought, 'That's pretty cool. I'll go do that. That would be fun, right?'"
After coming to know that Jennifer Lopez was also playing the festival he became a little bit anxious, "and when I get nervous I tend to drink a little bit." he said. "I'm just being honest with you."
However, it is a big month for Shelton. The new season of "The Voice" on NBC premieres Monday night, and on Wednesday, he will also play a free show in Nashville. Reportedly, he will perform at the 2015 CMA Awards in November. He is nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year.
Shelton is scheduled to perform at the 2016 Country Jam in Grand Junction, Colo. The singer joins Brad Paisley, Zac Brown Band and Lee Brice for the June 16-19 country and camping festival.
Shelton married longtime girlfriend Kaynette Gern on Nov. 17, 2003, and the couple divorced in 2006. In 2005, Shelton met fellow country singer Lambert at the CMT's 100 Greatest Duets Concert After dating for four years, the "Nashville Star" judge and Lambert were married on May 14, 2011.
On July 20, Shelton had filed for divorce from Lambert after four years of marriage. According to Hollywood Life, Shelton is helping Gwen Stefani get through the excruciating procedure of divorce. Stefani filed for divorce from Gavin Rossdale on Aug. 3.
Meanwhile, Lambert is busy focusing on her career and on Saturday shared a picture on Instagram ahead of her performance at a concert in Luckenbach, Texas, for a special event for MuttNation Foundation.
