Alcatel recently announced and unveiled its latest mid-range selfie-focused smartphone OneTouch Flash 2 as a successor to last year's OneTouch Flash device.
The OneTouch Flash 2 handset is expected to be available initially in the Asian market such as Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines, Phone Arena reported.
In addition, the OneTouch Flash 2 will also make its way to the Indian market via e-commerce website Flipkart, NDTV reported.
OneTouch Flash 2 specs and features are 5.0-inch IPS display screen with a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution and Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. The OneTouch Flash 2 will have a powerful 13 mega pixel camera on the back and a 5 mega pixel camera on the front that comes with LED flash. The rear-facing camera will feature dual-tone dual-LED flash, a phase detection autofocus capability along with an f/2.0 aperture.
Under the hood, the new Alcatel handset will pack a MediaTek MT6753 processor along with a 1.3 GHz octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU and a Mali-T720MP4 graphics processing unit. Also, there will be 2GB of RAM, an expandable 16GB internal memory storage and a large 3000 mAh battery. The phone will support dual-SIM capability and LTE connectivity as well.
In terms of the price, there is still no word on how much the Alcatel OneTouch Flash 2 smartphone will cost, and when it will arrive in other markets outside of Asia. The new phone is scheduled to be released in Asia sometime before the end of this month.
Previously, Alcatel released its Flash Plus smartphone in May. In comparison with the OneTouch Flash 2, the Flash Plus sports a larger 5.5-inch IPS display screen with a similar 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. Like the new phone, the Flash Plus has a 13 mega pixel rear camera, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of expandable memory.
