Selena Gomez released the video for "Same Old Love" on Apple Music on Sept. 22, and it's worth watching a number of times.
The video for "Same Old Love" is a refined and look at the singer's new musical route. The new track is the second single off the 23-year-old singer's new album "Revival," which hits stores on Oct. 9.
"Same Old Love" finds Gomez leaving a hotel and introspecting time as she travels around downtown LA. She watches from the back seat of the car on a rainy night as she sings the song. Going through a busy club and later performs in front of an enthusiastic audience.
The 23-year-old pop star teased the video on Twitter in on Sept. 22, Tuesday. "The official video for #SameOldLove directed by Michael Haussman and starring YOU GUYS drops today," wrote Gomez.
After releasing the song, Gomez explained that the inspiration behind the libretto. "I think 'Same Old Love' represents a different kind of identity with love," she told Radio Disney in an interview airing next month.
"This song represents the many cycles of love and it was important that the video showed different examples of love," "Fly to Your Heart" singer said in a statement. "Plus, I got to surprise my fans by including them in it which made it even more special for me."
The final onstage number was filmed at a fan event on Sept.16 at the Palace Theatre in Los Angeles, where Gomez surprised her fans with a preview of her new album -- and the chance to appear in her video,Hollywood life reported.
"Something's coming, #Selenators...Stay tuned for more," tweeted Gomez on Aug.28.
"Same Old Love" is directed by Michael Haussman. Haussman has directed music videos including; Justin Timberlake's "SexyBack," Kanye West's "Jesus Walks" and Madonna's "Take a Bow."
