Miles Bridges is the no.8 rated prospect of the class of 2016, according to ESPN. He is probably their best bet.
The 6-7 swingman has already trimmed down his list. He initially scheduled visits to his final five schools which included Michigan and North Carolina, but eventually he cut those two off, leaving just three schools in contention: Kentucky, Michigan State and Indiana.
He told ESPN: "I didn't want to waste anybody's time. I'm trying to get this recruiting stuff over with."
He also mentioned that he will announce his final decision on October 3.
Bridges hails from Flint, Michigan so the two local giants were natural contenders for him. However, he seems to prefer the Spartans so the Wolverines were knocked off.
Analysts from 24/7 Sports view his recruitment to be a two-way race between Michigan State and Kentucky, with John Calipari gaining a clear advantage. According to their Crystal Ball predictions, the Wildcats have a 68% chance of getting Bridges' commitment, as opposed to Michigan State's 32%. There were no predictions for Indiana.
Along with De'Aaron Fox, Bridges is the best prospect for Kentucky in terms of rank and probability to commit, although Calipari is still pursuing other big names like Harry Giles, Malik Monk and Kobi Simmons.
ESPN's Scouting report noted that "Bridges is a big and powerful left-handed combo-forward in the mold of former NBA player Rodney Rogers. He is explosive with very good body control, can make plays off the bounce, and is also a very underrated passer with a terrific right hand."
