“Legends of Tomorrow” will see time-traveling Darvill (Rip Hunter) collaborating with renowned DC superheroes under the leadership of Oliver Queen and Barry Allen.

Fans of the popular British series "Legends of Tomorrow" have always compared Arthur Darvill's Rip Hunter character to Doctor Who since the two are time travelers. Darvill has dished on the comparison and the likely references that Rip Hunter might use in the series.

According to Radio Times, the former "Doctor Who" star will feature in the highly anticipated "The Flash" and "Arrow" spinoff portrayed as Rip Hunter, a time traveler always wearing a long overcoat with a British accent. However, before conclusions are made that the character is the American colleague of Time Lord, Darvill offered the main difference between the two characters.

In an interview with the publication, Darvill said, "Rip Hunter is totally different to the Doctor. He's a lot darker, and he's not an alien! He's a Human Man. And he's got a very specific mission. Yes, they're very different characters."

However, fans of the CW series should expect references here and there with the BBC series "Doctor Who," particularly because showrunners Andrew Kreisberg, Greg Berlanti, and Marc Guggenheim are big fans of the BBC show.

There might also be reference to "Back to the Future" just like Darvill added, "I don't think you can do a time-travelling thing without referencing Doctor Who or Back to the Future. This definitely puts a new spin on it."

Meanwhile, there have been rumors that Metal Men comprising of a group of six AI robots developed by Dr. Will Magnus will feature in "Legends of Tomorrow." The speculations came after Guggenheim's tweet, which saw a Newstime magazine cover portraying a platinum bar. The excitement among fans became short-lived when Guggenheim clarified that the tweet was not teasing at anything, but it was just a rumor of the fictional magazine, Comic Book reported.

In "Legends of Tomorrow," time-traveling Darvill (Rip Hunter) will collaborate with renowned DC superheroes under the leadership of Oliver Queen and Barry Allen. The series is scheduled to drop next year on CW.
