Yet another blood moon event will take place during the lunar eclipse on Sept. 27, Sunday, which is the fourth lunar eclipse since April 2014. This is not that uncommon since several lunar eclipses took place over the past year but enjoying moon foods can make it special.
Among the suggested moon foods to be enjoyed while witnessing the blood moon event on Sept. 27, Sunday, which is also the first full moon of fall are mooncakes, pizza moons, moon cookies, Chinese moon pie and Blue Moon burger.
1. Mooncakes
The lunar eclipse of Sept. 27, Sunday, is in time with the moon festival, the annual celebration of the fall harvest also called Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival. While celebrating the festival, family and friends share mooncakes, which are considered an indispensable delicacy for moon watching and lunar workship.
2. Moon pie
Popular in some parts of the United States, a moon pie is a confection that consists of two round graham cracker cookers. In the center of the cookers is marshmallow filling dipped in a flavored coating.
3. Pizza moons
Among the best lunar-themed appetizers are the pizza moons. Stuffed with pepperoni and cheese, these crescent rolls can be dipped in pizza sauce. The Atlanta pizzeria restaurant and bar called Blue Moon Pizza not only offers some specialty moons and full moons. They also allow customers to create their own pizza moon.
4. Moon cookies
A recipe of moon cookies from NASA includes 1/2 cup wheat germ, 1-1/2 cups peanut butter, 1-1/2 cups honey, 3/4 cup graham cracker crumbs and three cups of dried milk in its ingredients.
5. Blue Moon Burgers
It will be nice to witness the blood moon event on Sept. 27, Sunday, while enjoying the house-made, all natural chicken and 100 percent Vegan Black Bean Patties and Vegetarian Falafel Patties of the gourmet burger chain in Seattle called Blue Moon Burgers.
