In celebration of 2015 Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, Bratz, the American doll maker, released a new line based on favorite celebrities in their Red Carpet garb.
Fans of the brand very well know the Bratz line to feature four key characters: Chloe, Jade, Jasmine and Sasha. Now, they can add Taraji P. Henson ("Empire"), Christina Hendricks ("Mad Men"), Sofia Vergara ("Modern Family"), Uzo Aduba ("Orange Is The New Black"), Amy Poehler ("Parks and Recreation"), Heidi Klum ("Project Runway"), Amy Schumer ("Inside Amy Schumer") and even Andy Samberg ("Brooklyn Nine-Nine") to iconic roster.
Bratz dolls are unique for their almond shaped eyes, stylized proportions and fashion-forward clothing. In July 2015, the group introduced a new character named Raya to go with the original four, according to its official website. The decision to introduce "celebified" versions is part of the MGA Entertainment's push toward reaching a wider market and aligning itself with style icons.
Since it started in 2001, the Bratz brand has expanded to include movies, a TV series with several spinoffs, video games and music albums. It is seen as a major rival to Mattel's Barbie which is reportedly developing a celebified version of Disney actress Zendaya Coleman in her 2015 Oscar Awards look.
