‘Final Fantasy XV’ New Information On Fishing Mechanics, Personalized MP3 Music In Car Radio

Final Fantasy XV is an action-RPG video game developed by Square Enix for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles.

Despite still being in development, "Final Fantasy XV' game director Hajime Tabata already has a lot of details to share with fans. The latest batch comes from Famitsu, a Japanese magazine, where he reveals some mechanics of activities and more information about an interesting feature that the team is looking into.

The exclusive feature, translated by Siliconera, revealed that a new feature that players may enjoy is now under consideration. The feature is revealed to be a car radio, where the developer is thinking of whether or not to give players the ability to play tracks from either personal MP3 music files or crossover soundtracks from other "Final Fantasy" or Square Enix titles.

It appears that the main issue that the developer is facing would be licensing issues in relation to the use of personal MP3 files. This issue is particularly heavy in Europe, where the laws regarding music are stricter compared to other target areas like North America and Japan. If the idea does push through, it will be a good personalization addition to the game.

Fishing is one of the activities that can be done by players. In "Final Fantasy XV," there can be fishes that are a meter long. The actual fishing activity may be limited in terms of the areas where it can be done. But while restrictions on ocean fishing have been mentioned, the developer is still considering this possibility since the player will travel by ship at some point.

There is a point to fishing, as these will become ingredients and items in one's stock. As the number of new fish types increase, so will a player's recipe numbers also go up.

Finally, another feature in the game that has already been known earlier is the ability to ride the Chocobos. Players can also feed Chocobos with vegetables to help in boosting their morale. This does go a long way when it comes to bringing Chocobos in battle, because how they are treated can have an effect on what they will do in battle.

One thing that the developer has not yet revealed is the actual size of the "Final Fantasy XV" world. Previously, there were some clues as to how big the game's world will be. The hint came from an estimation of the full map that showed an enormous environment, Dual Shockers reported.

The estimate takes into consideration the diorama previously showcased to be the game's world, the percentage of water in the map and the pixels of the material used as a basis. What this means is that there is still the uncertainty of whether or not the diorama represents the entire world or just part of it. Other elements of the game, such as the actual development process can influence this, so the approximated area may still be way off once this is revealed.

What has been found, however, the area and water included in the map is at around 786.4 square miles or 2,036.8 square kilometers. This goes beyond what other open world games, including "GTA V" and "The Witcher 3" have offered. If this approximation is correct, it won't be a surprise, considering the length of detail story-wise and mechanics of what can be done in the game have been revealed so far.
