Eddie Montgomery's son Hunter Montgomery (seen here) has died at 19.

Hunter Montgomery, the teenaged son of famous country singer Eddie Montgomery, has died under mysterious circumstances.

The father-of-one breathed his last in a Kentucky hospital with his family by his side, though, the reason for his untimely sudden demise remains unexplained.

"My son Hunter went to heaven today," said the 51-year-old singer in a statement, Daily Mail reported. The spokesman of the family further added that the teenager died due to a "tragic" accident and the grieving family is not yet ready to share more information.

Hunter, who was 19 and has just become a father to a baby boy, was reportedly on life support at a hospital in Lexington from past a few days. His mother, Tracy Nunan, had been at his bedside since Sept. 25, Friday, "praying for a miracle."

Hunter was engaged to long time lover Davara Little after famously proposing her on stage at one of his father's gigs in August 2014, People reported.  He was the youngest child among Eddie's four children with his ex-wife.

Eddie has been facing severe up-and-down from past five years in his life. Earlier he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. While he was declared cancer-free one year later, the string of bad luck continued when the larger-than-life singer split from Sony Nashville. Around the same time, his first wife Nunan served him with divorce papers.

Soon after, the "Where I Come From" singer filed for bankruptcy citing a failed restaurant venture and divorce issues. Eddie later married Jennifer Belcher in April 2014 with whom he has no kids as of now.
