Markieff Morris hogged the headlines this summer with his very public trade demand that also cost him $ 10,000 .
He has reiterated time and again that "his future would not be in Phoenix" and even had an "anywhere but here" vibe.
Apparently, that has all changed based on his statements at the Phoenix Suns' media day as covered by Valley of the Suns.
"I'm looking forward to the season, not really trying to look in the past," Markieff said. "I don't really want to talk about what happened this summer, I just want to look forward to the upcoming season and I'm glad to be back with my teammates."
He was further asked if he still wants to be traded, and his curt reply was, "I want to be here." The question was also raised on how the conversation with the front office went, and he successfully deflected it by saying: "That's between us, and we're going to deal with it."
When the dust settled on the issue, Markieff Morris started to talk about his future as a basketball player-with the Phoenix Suns.
"I've gotten better every year I've been in the league and I'm going to continue to get better with or without my brother," he said, putting to rest the question on whether he would still yearn to play with his brother.
"The ultimate goal is to make the playoffs," he continued. "It's not about me, it's about my teammates and the organization and we're looking forward to a great year and hopefully we make the playoffs this year."
When asked if he had had a conversation with Tyson Chandler, who volunteered to talk to Markieff, he simply replied, "Yep."
