NBA Rumors: Rajon Rondo To Stay In Sacramento; DeMarcus Cousins and George Karl Are Now ‘On Same Page’

Rajon Rondo

The Sacramento Kings are being heralded as probably this season's best candidate for a trainwreck because of their strong personalities.

However, if the combination of Rajon Rondo, Rudy Gay and DeMarcus Cousins works out under Coach George Karl, we might be looking at a budding force in the Pacific.

Karl and Cousins are said to be on the same page now. Some encouraging tweets have surfaced, quotes from both DMC and Coach Karl during the media day.

While most skeptics will say that it's media day and they would both say the right words, the hammer has been brought down by Vlade Divac that they would not trade Cousins and Karl would be the man out in case they don't get along. Thus, there might be adjustments from his side. Rajon Rondo, a former All-Star guard who was one of the most coveted free agents more than a year ago, saw his stock plummet and this is why he ended up with the Kings. He has signed a one-year contract to redeem himself and most assume that he would move out of Sacramento if he succeeds. However, his media day comments hinted that this may be more than a stopover.

Kings' fansite A Royal Pain, notes that the team may be changing its image around the league. If they can make it work, they will be seen more as a threat than a trainwreck.

"So it seems NBA players are finally starting to see Sacramento as more than just a temporary stop on the way to bigger and better things. Although his stock is low at the moment, make no mistake if Rondo gets even close to his prime level he's a downright great player to have. And if he chooses to stick with the Kings that says quite a bit about where this franchise is at the moment, and maybe about Rondo himself."
